As interest grows in sustainable end-of-life solutions, eterrna is positioning itself as the flagship company driving the legal introduction of Terramation in the UK. Working collaboratively with government at all levels, we aim not just to offer an alternative funeral method but to help shape a modern, robust regulatory framework in which Terramation can safely and respectfully operate.

eterrna’s Strategic Approach

eterrna is adopting a multi-stage strategy aimed at establishing Terramation safely and responsibly in the UK, and in doing so becoming the sector leader.

Collaboration with policymakers and legislators

We are working closely with our Welsh Government contacts via our local Plaid Cymru representative and the party leader in Wales, who have already raised the issue in Westminster.

We are engaging with the Law Commission process by preparing submissions to the public consultation, offering industry insight, practical considerations, and operational parameters to inform the draft Bill.

We are lobbying central government (via the Ministry of Justice, Welsh Government and relevant ministers) emphasising both the environmental benefits of Terramation and the need for legal clarity.

Advocacy and public engagement

Raising awareness of Terramation as a sustainable, dignified alternative to burial or flame cremation.

Engaging with funeral-industry stakeholders, bereavement services, local authorities and environmental interest groups to build broad-based support.

Communicating eterrna’s vision: to give people choice, to reduce land-use pressures and carbon emissions associated with conventional funerary methods, and to honour the human body with a natural return to earth.

Operational readiness and standards development

As legislation becomes clearer, eterrna will be ready with site plans, environmental impact assessments, facility design, and best-practice protocols (respect for dignity, hygiene, bio-security, certification of process).

Working with regulators to shape or comply with licensing/registration, monitoring, reporting and potential offence regimes proposed by the Law Commission.

Guiding stakeholders on how Terramation can integrate into the broader funeral supply chain: local authorities, funeral directors, transport, memorialisation, and after-care of the resulting soil.

Flagship positioning and market-leadership

By being an early mover with credible policy links, best-practice protocols and government engagement, eterrna aims to be the go-to provider when legalisation is secured.

Our hope is that the UK will become a centre of excellence for Terramation, offering choice, sustainability and quality assurance and that eterrna UK leads the way.
