Understanding the terramation process
We are sure you have a lot of questions. Eterrna are here to guide you through the terramation process, and help you make the right end-of-life choice for you or your loved one.

- 01 - How does it work?- Terramation uses the same natural process as composting. Ancient wisdom combined with modern science creates an innovative approach to deathcare, allowing people to leave a greener legacy for the planet when they die, and offer loved ones greater involvement during and after the funeral process.
- 02 - Caring for the body- The composting process takes place over approximately 60 days in a protected, climate-controlled environment. Within this vessel, the body is gently surrounded by organic materials like woodchips, hay, leaves and flowers. With warmth, air, and time, nature takes its course.
- 03 - Caring for the bereaved- Throughout the process, families are supported with care, transparency, and respect. Grief is honoured. Questions are welcomed. You remain a part of the journey every step of the way, should you wish to be.
- 04 - The re-terrning- When complete, the soil may be returned to loved ones for use in the garden, or donated to environmental organisations to help create a healthier landscape. From the wilderness of loss, seeds of hope can grow.

A 60-day journey guided by care and science
Stage 1
Receiving
The body is placed in a specially designed, sealed composting vessel.
Stage 2
Reducing
Nature takes its course in breaking the body down into its natural elements.
Stage 3
Recomposing
After 30 days, the remaining bones are broken down into a fine powder. Non-organic materials are removed and recycled.
Stage 4
Resting
The bone powder is returned to the composting material and allowed to dry over 30 days.
Stage 5
Reterrning
The process is complete, resulting in pure, clean compost.
